“We really wanted a tour of the Xochimilco canals that didn’t involve partying and loud music. We signed up for this tour and our wish came true. Our guide Mario was very easy to communicate via WhatsApp- when we missed our original booking he just rescheduled us for another one. An Uber took us to this spot on the canals (be aware it’s a 1+ hour to get there). After coffee and muffins he ran through the instructions and then we were on the canal, passing storks, cows, farmers in a beautiful government protected eco zone. Three hours of paddling, drifting and learning about what we were seeing.. it was exactly what we wanted oh and there are beautiful horses on the property”
I have left that review whole, including the travel time, and I am not going to repeat it as a fact. “I took 9am trip and I was the only guest on that day. My guide Mario was very helpful and eager to tell about Xoximilcho and its history. The visit on animal sanctuary was intresting and we had a relaxing moment over a cup of coffee. Marios hospitality was heart warming and it was obvious he didnt do this for the money. If you are thinking of choosing between boat boozing trip and kayaking in Xoximilcho, I deffinetly recommend this option.”
